The HMWS&SB has been awarded the prestigious World Water Award for Excellence in Wastewater Treatment.
The Nagole Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) was recognized as the Best STP in the Government Category for 2024–25 by Water Digest, a leading organization in the water sector. The award ceremony, held on April 1, 2025 in New Delhi, marked the 19th Water Digest World Water Awards, organized in collaboration with UNESCO, celebrating innovation and sustainability in water management.
The award was received by Executive Director Sri Mayank Mittal Garu and Project Director Sri Sudharshan Garu on behalf of HMWS&SB, and was later presented to the Managing Director, Sri K. Ashok Reddy Garu.
With a treatment capacity of 320 million liters per day (MLD), the Nagole STP is one of the largest in India. It was selected for this recognition owing to its commitment to environmental sustainability and the implementation of efficient wastewater treatment processes.
