The twin reservoirs of Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar are receiving flood water due to the heavy rains from upper streams as a result, the two gates of the Himayat Sagar reservoir out of 17 were lifted and raised by one foot to release the flood water downstream on 21-07-2023.

Currently, there is an inflow of 1200 cusecs and an outflow of 700 cusecs at Himayat Sagar. On the other hand, 700 cusecs of water is coming to Osman Sagar (Gandipet) reservoir. The full water level of  Himayat Sagar is 1790 feet and is currently the water level reached 1785.15 feet.

The MD, HMWSSB Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS instructed the concerned HMWSSB officials and local bodies of Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts, GHMC and police officials to be alert to tackle the situation.
