HMWSSB SAFETY AWARENESS WEEK AT WORK SITES PROGRAMME FROM 25-5-2022 TO 31-05-2022 STARTS TODAY ON 25.05.2022

Sri M. Dana Kishore, IAS, Managing Director, HMWSSB said the Board has launched the Safety awareness week to create awareness about the safety measures to be taken by workers and staff on duty and the precautions to be taken by the public with regard to open manholes.

GHMC Mayor G. Vijayalakshmi along with HMWSSB officials inaugurated the Safety awareness week at work site’ programme scheduled from May 25th  to 31st . The ‘Safety Week’ began on Wednesday in all HMWSSB divisions upto ORR limits.

The public representatives, Water Board officials participated in awareness programme across all the sections and divisions. On occasion the Mayor addressed the gathering. The HMWSSB workers pledged to use safety equipment while doing the work.

Sri M. Dana Kishore, Managing Director, HMWSSB said that a week-long awareness programme on sewerage management and security for sewerage workers working in the water body would be conducted. The awareness programmes will focus on workers’ approach on “dos and donts” while undertaking sanitation work. He said the water board is conducting these security awareness programs on a daily basis on the implementation of SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) guidelines on sanitation works. The MD has said that, there are around 3.5 lakh manholes in the city and asked the city dwellers not to open their lids during the monsoon.
